The High Note (2020) Movie full Review

Positive: One actor made this a somewhat worthwhile almost 2 hrs., and that was Tracee Ross (last name should be familiar to you). She was natural, funny, spunky, outrageous. Neutral: The singing by Ross and others was OK (wouldn’t get far on The Voice or AGT, but kudos to her for her overall talents). Negatives: The script/storyline was too predictable, seen before, of a singer reestablishing their career. Acting by all but Ross was very scripted mechanical and not believable. Musical productions whether on stage or in the studio seemed like cheap filler, and sameness repeated too often. Usual romance for those needing that hook to spice up the drama, but again came across as staged.
