Polite Society 2023 Movie full Review

It was a fun film, I have never seen a movie with elements of Bollywood, Chinese, and English films. What I liked about the film was a part of it’s messaging, that it is okay to be silly, and it’s showcase of certain grade of willfulness. The movie also sweetly reminded me of old Mortal Kombat films, structure of certain American animated films, and English tv shows.

One has to be sensitized to these kind of media to know how beautifully the film was done. I hope to see and enjoy more creative films from the director. I hope she would see through the negative reviews, and understand it doesn’t have anything to do with her craft. As everyone says, I hope the actress that did Ria character gets more roles, even if it’s TV roles, she gets more opportunities to deliver her brand of acting at this point of time. Her dancing that started with a flat face reminded me of Aubrey Plaza’s flat face interviews with the occasional boiling fury. 9.5/10.
