Plane (2023) Movie full Review

Starring Gerard Butler, Plane is an okay action thriller of anxiety inducing actions with a simple plot to follow. The first half had some intensity which lost it’s track in the second half, becoming a violent action with even less involvement of other characters whatsoever.

There were characterization shortcomings and almost completely built out of clichés and corn, however there’s very little in Plane that hasn’t been seen before, but it very rarely matters. Exciting without ever really thrilling, it’s a generous yet logically flawed action thriller, powered by Butler’s performance.

You know what to expect with a movie called Plane starring Gerard Butler released in January. I wanted a fun throwback to 90s action B-movies and I mostly got exactly what I expected, which is a good thing. Movies like this are sadly much fewer these days. Plane leans more towards the “taking things seriously” than the “in-on-the-joke” approach and it works due to the great pacing, commitment from the actors, and hard-hitting action.

First, Plane is a science fiction, generic action movie. The Science fiction part are the first 20 minutes and the last 20. Embarrassing CGI included. I dont understand why filmmakers want to use this kind of cheap CGI to create a plane crash. Even the movie Airplane from 1979, looks better.
