Hellhole is directed by Bartosz M. Kowalski, who also wrote the screenplay with Mirella Zaradkiewicz. These are also the two people behind the horror-comedy movies Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight. While those movies focus on the fun side of gore and unkillable villains, this one is a very different beast.

With this new Netflix horror movie, there is a focus on horror in the dark and dramatic sense that shows the horrors of human nature. Also, you should know that the Polish title of Ostatnia wieczerza translates into “Last Supper”. Since this is a movie about exorcism, this should come as no huge surprise. But what the supper in Hellhole consists of, just might. As an added bonus, the international (and English) title of Hellhole is also much more accurate than you could possibly imagine! The only reason our rating isn’t higher is that the first half is just a tad too slow, but that doesn’t take anything away from the overall experience. If we gave half ratings, we’d be at 3½.
